The Atlanta Falcons are already shuffling the bottom of the roster, to no one’s shock. They’ve signed Josh Thompson, a safety who spent time with Atlanta during 2024 training camp, and have cut ties with defensive back Benny Sapp.
Thompson, 26, is a former undrafted free agent for the Tennessee Titans who played in his only six NFL games for that team, appearing solely on special teams. Last year, he had an outside shot at pushing for a practice squad spot in Atlanta, but was placed on injured reserve and ultimately let go before the 2024 season kicked off.
