Falcons release undrafted CB Rashard Causey, sign S Ronald Martin

The Atlanta Falcons announced Friday they are parting ways with undrafted cornerback Rashard Causey. In a corresponding move, the team announced the addition of safety Ronald Martin.

Causey, the former University of Central Florida cornerback, signed with the Falcons after he went undrafted in the 2019 NFL Draft. In 2018, Causey started five games for the Knights, recording 48 tackles (39 solo) and three forced fumbles.

In Thursday’s Hall of Fame game, Rashard Causey played 17% of the defensive snaps and 24% of the special teams snaps. Unfortunately for him, his biggest impact on the game was when he was flagged for defensive pass interference on a fourth down, which allowed the Denver Broncos to remain in, and ultimately win, the game.
