3 Draft Day Trades The Atlanta Falcons Could Make

The 2015 NFL Draft is under a month away, which means draft trade rumors are about to get extremely loud around the league. The Atlanta Falcons are one team that could be in the mix for some draft day hijinx, but what/who exactly would they look to trade for? Here’s 3 Draft Day Trades The Atlanta Falcons Could Make.

1. Trade #8 pick and 2nd round pick (#42) to Jacksonville for #3 pick

Such a move up doesn't make sense if the Atlanta Falcons are looking at interior offensive lineman, but does make sense if they want their pick of the litter when it comes to a pass rusher-stacked 2015 NFL Draft. Florida's Dante Fowler Jr. is a perfect fit, in that he's versatile enough to play a hybrid outside linebacker position while providing instant behind-the-line disruption to a Falcons defense in need of such explosiveness.

2. Trade #8 pick and 2nd round pick (#42) to Oakland for #4 pick

Maybe a more likely scenario based on the pick values involved, this hinges on Raiders GM Reggie McKenzie's draft strategy. If he's less worried about landing a marquee WR like West Virginia's Kevin White or Alabama's Amari Cooper early on, he might be willing to swing such a deal to grab another second-rounder in a deep wide receiver draft. However, the catch here is the very real chance that a potential top target like Fowler or Clemson's Vic Beasley goes in the top three picks.

3. Trade #8 pick to Cleveland for #12 pick and 3rd round pick (#77)

This would be almost an even-value trade according to Walter Football's draft value charts, and could be a very real possibility if someone like Oregon QB Marcus Mariota goes slip-sliding out of the top seven on draft day. A Browns team staring down the barrel of the Josh "Replacement Level" McCown era could easily pull the trigger on such a deal, giving the Falcons a mid-3rd to boost their defensive profile.
