Yankees make trade with Braves, sending away veteran pitcher

The New York Yankees made another trade, this one on Monday afternoon, this one sending a veteran away from the Bronx.

They've sent Carlos Carrasco to the Atlanta Braves.

According to MLB.com's Mark Feinsand, the return will either be cash considerations or a player to be named later.

This feels mostly like Atlanta adding some pitching depth to use down the stretch. The Braves' entire opening day starting rotation is on the injured list.

The Yankees didn't need Carrasco. He's in the minor leagues and off the 40-man roster.

Carrasco was once an MLB star during his Cleveland days, but those are a long time ago.
