It has been announced that former Atlanta Braves catchers Brian McCann and Evan Gattis will be part of the ceremonial first pitch in Game 1 of the 2019 World Series.
Maybe it’s just me, but it seems a little odd that the Astros would have McCann and Gattis as part of the first pitch in the World Series.
I get that they were part of the 2017 team that won it all, but are there really not any better choices for Game 1?
Perhaps I’m overthinking the importance of a ceremonial first pitch.
