Tucker Davidson sharp for Braves in 5-1 win over Nationals

Tucker Davidson pitched well while Dansby Swanson homered to help the Atlanta Braves snap a two-game skid with a 5-1 win over the Washington Nationals.

Davidson, turned in another solid performance and was the story in this game early on. He breezed through the first three innings retiring nine of the first 10 hitters he faced. The only blemish was a first-inning walk to Juan Soto.

Soto walked again in the fourth with one out but Davidson retired Ryan Zimmermann and Starlin Castro to end the inning. Washington threatened in the fifth as Victor Robles worked a leadoff walk and then moved up to second on an opposite field single by Jody Mercer.
