The Atlanta Braves have a long history of finding talent in their own backyard. Matt Olson and Michael Harris II are Georgia natives, as are former Braves Charlie Culberson, Dansby Swanson, Tim Hudson, Jeff Francoeur, and Brian McCann. It makes sense, then, that the Braves may go to that well in their search for a new manager and select Atlanta’s own George Lombard.
Lombard was selected in the second round of the 1994 Draft by the Braves and made a few appearances with Atlanta from 1998-2000. He never quite panned out as an outfielder; his career high came in 2002 when he played 72 games with the Tigers and hit .
