1913 - Boston Braves sidearmer Lefty Tyler throws a one hitter in a 2-1 win over Christy Mathewson and the Giants. Mathewson allows eight hits and two runs.

1927 - Doc Gautreau steals home twice in a game against Brooklyn to tie the major league record. No other player would record two steals of home in the same game until Vic Power did it in 1958.
