This Day in Braves History: June 24

1953 - The Braves sign 17-year old RHP Joey Jay making him the first Little League player to make it to the major leagues. Jay would go on to have a 13-year career in the majors posting a 3.77 ERA with 999 career strikeouts in 310 career appearances.

1975 - Joe Morgan hits a three-run home run off of Phil Niekro to account for all the scoring in a 3-0 win by the Reds.
