2004 - Free agent outfielder J.D. Drew signs a five-year, $55 million deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Drew spent the previous season in Atlanta after he was acquired along with catcher Eli Marrero from the St. Louis Cardinals in exchange for Ray King, Jason Marquis and Adam Wainwright. Drew had been injury prone throughout his time with the Cardinals but put it all together for Atlanta in 2004 by appearing in 145 games and hitting .
