This Day in Braves History: September 24

1949 - Bob Elliott homers in three straight at-bats to help the Braves down the Giants 6-4.

1965 - Tony Cloninger throws a four-hitter as the Braves defeat the Giants at Candlestick Park.

1968 - Gil Hodges suffers a heart attack during a game between the Mets and Braves. He will be hospitalized with Rube Walker taking over for the rest of the season.
