1945 - The Braves sweep the Pirates in a doubleheader, 13-5 and 14-8. Butch Nieman hits a pinch hit grand slam in the opener. In the second game, Tommy Holmes extends his hitting streak to 34 consecutive games to pass Rogers Hornsby’s modern NL record of 33-straight in 1922.

1970 - Braves second baseman Felix Milan goes 6-for-6 at the plate and drives in four runs in a 12-4 win over the Giants.
