This Day in Braves History: June 27

1982 - The Braves tie the major-league record with seven double plays in a 2-0 win in 14 innings over the Cincinnati Reds. Mario Soto throws 10 shutout innings for the Reds but gets a no decision. Rick Camp, Steve Bedrosian, Gene Garber and Al Hrabosky combine on the shutout for Atlanta.

1993 - Ron Gant strikes out four times against Houston’s Darryl Kile giving him seven consecutive strikeouts and a record-tying 10 in his last three games.
