This Day in Braves History: December 9

1941 - The Braves acquire outfielder Tommy Holmes from the Yankees in exchange for Gene Moore and Buddy Hassett. Holmes will go on to set a National League record with a 37-game hitting streak. Holmes’ record would be broken in 1978 by Pete Rose.

1976 - The Rangers trade Jeff Burroughs to the Braves for Adrian Devine, Ken Henderson, Dave May, Roger Moret, Carl Morton and an estimated $250,000.
