This Day in Braves History: November 30

1961 - Braves catcher Joe Torre finishes second in NL Rookie of the Year voting to Cubs outfielder Billy Williams. Torre receives five votes from the writers after hitting .278/.330/.424 with 10 home runs in 113 games.

1970 - The Cubs trade knuckleballer Hoyt Wilhelm to the Braves in exchange for minor league first baseman Hal Breeden. The Braves first acquired Wilhelm from the Angels in September of 1969.
