1988 - The New York Mets retire Tom Seaver’s No. 41 jersey in a pre-game ceremony at Shea Stadium and then drop a 4-2 decision to the Braves. Dale Murphy homered and drove in two runs in the victory.

1991 - Brian Hunter homers in a 7-4 loss to the Pirates. At the same time, his former teammates at Richmond finish a suspended game against Pawtucket.
