One of the biggest question marks for the upcoming offseason is whether or not the universal DH will be sticking around for the 2021 season. Implementing the DH for the 2020 season was a necessary step given the shutdown of spring training and the subsequent ramp up, however, there was no guarantee that it would be sticking around longterm although there are ample reasons for the players and the league to come to an agreement.
ESPN’s Buster Olney thinks it is likely that the league and the Players Association find common ground on the DH unless things just completely fall apart this winter.
