The Daily Chop: Morton is Marvelous as Braves Offense Ends Road Trip on Good Note

The Atlanta Braves are 4-8 over their past twelve games.

While that may seem less than ideal, it is a result of one of their toughest stretches of the season for Atlanta. With an off day today, the Braves are two games ahead in the NL East.

That record is a result of a stretch of games against the Yankees, Giants, Dodgers, and Rockies at home. Over the next three series, Atlanta will face the Nationals, Marlins, and Rockies as an away team. When the Braves extended their lead to 5 12 games before this recent stretch, it was logical that their lead atop the NL East would shrink.
