The Daily Chop: League, Players far apart on 2020 proposal

There were two big stories on Tuesday in regards to Major League Baseball and a possible 2020 season. As expected, the league presented an economic proposal to the Players Union and the reaction was not good per The Athletic’s Evan Drellich and Ken Rosenthal.

The proposal includes significant pay cuts for the highest-paid players with the lower paid players taking lesser cuts from their full prorated shares according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan and Jesse Rogers. Passan later tweeted out what that would look like and it is easy to see why the players were disgusted with the proposal.
