Monday’s loss to the Mets featured a scary incident where Kevin Pillar was struck in the face by a pitch from Jacob Webb. Both Pillar and Webb spoke with the media on Tuesday about the incident. Pillar was diagnosed with multiple nasal fractures and is slated to meet with a specialist to determine the next step in his recovery.
Webb was visibly shaken and said that he checked in with Pillar after the game and again on Tuesday.
“I’m just obviously thinking about him. I just injured the guy. It’s definitely tough moving forward,” Webb said.
