In a strange quirk for the 2020 MLB Season, Atlanta Braves reliever Grant Dayton is one of 11 players who won’t get a paycheck when the season gets underway. If you are wondering how that can be, Dayton’s prorated salary for the 2020 season is less than the $286,500 advance that was already paid out. Dayton recently spoke with the AJC’s Gabe Burns about his situation.

“I knew that there was going to be a point that if we resume games, I wouldn’t get paid. And I was OK with that because we still received significant amounts of money and we’re fine.
