Awards week continues on Wednesday with the Cy Young award announcement for the American and National League. There is some intrigue to this award given the number of solid pitching performances we saw during the 2018 season. Finalists in the National League are Mets right-handed Jacob deGrom, the Phillies Aaron Nola and the Nationals’ Max Scherzer. DeGrom is the favorite but we will have to wait until tonight to find out if he actually wins.
Things are less clear in the American League where the finalists are Corey Kluber, Blake Snell and Justin Verlander.
