Taijuan Walker leaves NY Mets game vs. Braves with apparent injury

ATLANTA — At this point, it's unbelievable — and not in the good way.

The Mets, already without so many regulars, might lose another. After tossing three scoreless innings, right-hander Taijuan Walker left Monday's game against the Braves with left side tightness.

It seemed something was ailing him during the third inning, when he allowed a single to his counterpart, Max Fried, before striking out Ronald Acuña Jr. to end the frame. Walker required only 33 pitches to get through three.

Sean Reid-Foley relieved Walker after three innings.

Walker has a 2.05 ERA through his first eight starts — 44 total innings — for the Mets.
