Editor’s note: 1997 could have been a great year for the San Francisco Giants. Instead, it was just a good one. The Giants won the National League West, edging the Dodgers by two games. San Francisco faced the wild card team, the Florida Marlins, in the NL Division Series, but got wiped out three games to nothing, a depressing end to their season.
But here at The Reporter, there are always second chances for our local Bay Area baseball teams. Through the magic of Stormfront Studios’ computer simulation game, Old Time Baseball, we replayed that series, and this time the Giants won, three games to two.
