Shanks: Atlanta Braves stars must step up as offensive struggles pile up

If you were to make a list at what’s gone right for the Atlanta Braves and what’s gone wrong through the first almost-60 games, it would be clear as to why the record is below .500.

The chaos started after the fourth game of the season. Sure, the Braves were 0-4, but there was even worse news when they woke up on March 31 in Los Angeles. The new left fielder, the only major acquisition of the offseason, Jurickson Profar, was being suspended for testing positive for a banned substance.

It was going to be 80 games, and Profar would be ineligible for any postseason games.
