LINCOLN, Neb. (KSNB) - Outgoing Nebraska closer and Grand Island native Shay Schanaman has been signed by the Atlanta Braves as an undrafted free agent, as first reported by Husker Online’s Grant Hansen.
Schanaman threw 66 strikeouts in his final season with the Huskers and finished fifth on the program’s career strikeout list. The righty had 3.07 ERA in 55 2/3 innings of work to go along with six saves.
Terms of the deal are presently unknown.
