Reds OF Tyler Callihan injures arm, leaves game vs. Braves

May 6 - Cincinnati left fielder Tyler Callihan left Monday's game in the third inning against the host Atlanta Braves after injuring his left arm while making a defensive play.

The rookie raced to the corner in an effort to catch Matt Olson's slicing fly ball. Callihan stretched out make the catch, temporarily had the ball in his glove, but slammed into the sidewall and the ball bounced loose and resulted in an inside-the-park home run. Olson's hit also scored Austin Riley, who had hit an RBI single, for a 4-0 Atlanta lead through three innings.

Callihan lay on the field, clutching his left forearm, until medical personnel came to attend to him and walk him off the field.
