The Baltimore Orioles acquired right-hander Scott Blewett from the Atlanta Braves in exchange for cash considerations on Friday. To open a spot for him on the rotation, the Orioles have designated outfielder Jordyn Adams.
Ramón Laureano was reinstated from the 10-day injured list and will fill in Adams' spot.
Blewett was supposed to be designated for assignment by the Braves after his last appearance Thursday, in which he allowed five earned runs in 1.1 innings against the Arizona Diamondbacks en route to their ninth inning comeback. Still, Atlanta decided to trade the right-hander.
