NEW YORK — Just when you thought it couldn't get worse, it did.
On this night, given the recent injury news on multiple pitchers, this is the last thing the New York Mets needed.
Starting pitcher Marcus Stroman left Tuesday's game against the Atlanta Braves in the second inning because of left hip soreness.
He appeared to slip and tweak his hip while delivering a 1-1 pitch to the Braves' Austin Riley with no outs. He did a little bounce right after the pitch, almost as if he felt immediate pain or discomfort.
