Earlier, we went over Baseball America’s latest mock draft which had the Rays being the team that was doing some under slot shenanigans in signing Bubba Thompson to a big under slot deal in the MLB Draft. The Braves, in that scenario, would pick a pitcher that BA says the Braves have coveted in Vanderbilt ace Kyle Wright.
In this mock draft which has picks from MLB Pipeline writers Jonathan Mayo and Jim Callis, it is the Braves that go the under slot route.
Both Mayo and Callis concede that the Braves could very well select Kyle Wright with their pick, but they are hearing an increased possibility of the Braves going under slot with several players being targeted.
