COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - A state-of-the-art baseball stadium in Columbus will be the future home to the Double-A Affiliate of the Atlanta Braves.
Officials announced on Jan. 9 that the Atlanta Braves’ Double-A affiliate will be calling Columbus home. Starting next year’s season, professional baseball is returning to Golden Park as a result of a partnership between Columbus, Georgia, local community stakeholders led by W.C. Bradley Company and Diamond Holdings.
This affiliation will be a major part of a planned urban renaissance and ongoing revitalization project for the city. The ballpark is expected to drive the development of a multi-use project featuring retail, multi-family residences, hotel and office space surrounding the stadium near the Chattahoochee River.
