Braves left-hander Mike Minor has gone under the knife. The veteran southpaw starter underwent successful surgery on his pitching shoulder Wednesday and will spend the rest of the season recovering. Minor had a torn labrum in his left shoulder, and it was repaired by noted surgeon Dr. Neal ElAttrache in Los Angeles.
Minor, 27, suffered the injury in Spring Training and has not pitched at all this season. The southpaw has posted a career record of 38-36 with a 4.10 ERA in 111 appearances in the Major Leagues. Minor was selected by Atlanta with the seventh overall pick of the 2009 First-Year Player Draft.
