Mike Soroka to miss remainder of 2021 season

In what is not exactly surprising, but still just as gut-wrenching, Brian Snitker and the Atlanta Braves have announced that starting pitcher Mike Soroka will miss the remainder of the 2021 season.

Just in case your head has been in the sand for the past few months, Soroka tore his right Achilles tendon back on August 3rd. He had since had surgery to repair the tear, and then recently suffered a setback and underwent exploratory surgery after Soroka complained of soreness in the area.

This news is especially not great following Huascar Ynoa breaking his hand, and Marcell Ozuna fracturing two of his fingers - but again it is not that surprising following the setback Soroka suffered and the additional surgery that he had.
