Miami Marlins: Soler providing raw power lost when team traded Duvall last summer

MIAMI — Big-time power plays at spacious loanDepot park.

Miami Marlins outfielder Jorge Soler sent a reminder of that in Friday’s 5-3 home loss to the Atlanta Braves.

Miami Marlins designated hitter Jorge Soler, right, celebrates with first baseman Jesus Aguilar (99) after hitting a home run Friday during the sixth inning against the Atlanta Braves at loanDepot park in Miami.

In the sixth inning, Soler crushed a Charlie Morton curveball into the Budweiser Bar area on the concourse. Statcast projected the distance at 413 feet, with an exit speed of 110.2 mph. It was Soler’s eighth home run of the season and another no-doubter.
