Mets looking for signs of life as they return home to face Braves

The New York Mets (63-55) will look to get some home cooking going as they try to avoid further embarrassment while kicking off their six-game homestand with a three-game set against the Atlanta Braves (51-67). The Mets lost five games in a row to Atlanta, including a three-game sweep at Truist Park, before taking their two most recent games against the Braves. The result is a 2-5 record so far this season.

Where to even begin with what happened this weekend? Well, the long and the short of it is the Mets were swept by the Brewers in a three-game set at American Family Field, which extended their skid to seven games while helping Milwaukee, who are on a nine-game winning streak, remain perfect in August.
