Maroth hired by Braves as rehab pitching coordinator

MIAMI — The Braves hired former major league pitcher Mike Maroth as their new minor league rehabilitation pitching coordinator, a position created last spring to oversee the many pitchers at various stages of injury rehab at the player-development complex in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

Former pitcher Dan Meyer held the position this year, and will remain in the organization in another undetermined position. Maroth will report to player development director Dave Trembley and assistant director Jonathan Schuerholz.
