ATLANTA, Ga. — The Miami Marlins entered Saturday with a chance to win yet another series, but the Atlanta Braves swept both games of the doubleheader, 7-1 and 8-6, handing Miami a series loss ahead of Sunday’s finale.
In the first game, the Marlins fell behind early in right-hander Ryan Gusto’s debut start for Miami.
They never held a lead, as the Braves were powered by rookie Hurston Waldrep and Michael Harris II.
In the nightcap, ace Sandy Alcantara allowed five runs over five innings, including both of Marcell Ozuna’s home runs. Alcantara’s ERA rose to 6.
