KDF's official poster series has been a staple in Louisville's annual Kentucky Derby celebration for more than four decades. Sullivan, who was raised in Louisville, studied art and played baseball at Savannah College of Art and Design. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Art in illustration, and his talent for depicting athletics has gained a vibrant national following.
“Art has always been a way for me to transcend boundaries and merge with the creative spirit,” Sullivan said of his work, in a press release. “I believe the Kentucky Derby Festival is a great example of how our own community transcends its boundaries and for a brief moment in the spring we all get to feel lighter and more connected to our amazing city.
