The Atlanta Braves will try to stop the bleeding and avoid a sweep Wednesday when they wrap up a three-game series against the Pittsburgh Pirates. After a 4-2 homestand, the Braves were hoping to close out the first half strong against a couple of last place teams in Pittsburgh and Miami. That hasn’t been the case as they have dropped the first two games to the Pirates falling 11-1 Monday and 2-1 on Tuesday when Tyler Matzek walked in the winning run in the ninth.
Drew Smyly will take the mound for the Braves Wednesday and will be looking to continue a solid stretch.
