A critical two-week stretch will begin for the Atlanta Braves Friday night when they open up a three-game series against the Tampa Bay Rays. Atlanta enters play Friday at 44-45 and four games back of the New York Mets for the division lead. Despite losing Ronald Acuña Jr. for the remainder of the season due to a knee injury, Alex Anthopoulos said Thursday night that the focus currently is on adding to the roster. They did just that Thursday evening when they acquired Joc Pederson from the Chicago Cubs. While that move will give them some flexibility and depth in the outfield, more will be needed if they want to hang in the race.
