Fresh off of a blowout win Wednesday, the Atlanta Braves will try to close the gap in the NL East and clinch a series win in the process against the New York Mets. Atlanta carried a 3-0 lead into the seventh inning of Tuesday’s series opener but was unable to hold it in a 4-3 loss. The Braves got a bit of revenge Wednesday scoring 20 unanswered runs in a 20-2 blowout victory. Ozzie Albies finished with five hits, homered twice and drove in seven runs to lead the way.
The Braves will have their work cut out for them in Thursday’s series finale against Jacob deGrom who is in the midst of perhaps the greatest season ever by a pitcher.
