It took a while, after he had surgery to remove one of four parathyroid glands this spring, and then ended up on the COVID-IL before Opening Day, but Jon Lester, who signed a 1-year/$11M deal with the Washington Nationals this winter, finally made his 2021 debut last week in the nation’s capital.
Lester tossed five scoreless, working around five hits and two walks in a 2-1 win over the Miami Marlins in which he received no decision.
