ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Spencer Strider sat up at the podium during Thursday’s postgame press conference looking down, answering questions about his outing in a quiet, introverted manner.
The 26-year-old was still deep in thought about his outing: Six innings of one-run ball with eight strikeouts to set the Atlanta Braves up to a 7-1 victory and a three-game series sweep against the New York Mets, their seventh win in their last nine games.
But when he was asked about his velocity, or if something clicked during the second half of Thursday night’s outing, he looked up like a light bulb had gone off in his head.
