Freeman extends hit streak to 28 on RBI single

Dan Uggla set Atlanta's record when he hit safely in 33 consecutive games during the 2011 season. Freeman joined Rico Carty (31 games in 1970), Rowland Office (29 in '76) and Marquis Grissom (28 in '96) as the only other players in Braves history to record a streak that spans at least 28 games.

Freeman also extended his career-best on-base streak to 44 games. The only players in Atlanta history to record longer streaks were Gary Sheffield (52 games in 2002) and Dale Murphy (48 games in 1987).
