PEARL, Miss. (WLBT) - A former Southern Miss baseball star relief pitcher has been promoted to the Mississippi Braves by the Atlanta Braves organization.
Landon Harper received the call-up on Saturday after an impressive stint for the Atlanta Braves’ High-A Rome.
Harper was the Atlanta Braves’ 14th-round selection in 2022 and pitched in Rome, Georgia, making nine appearances and one start.
The 23-year-old posted a 2-2 record and a 5.16 earned run average, four walks, and 22 strikeouts.
The Meridian native spent the 2023 season with Low-A Augusta, going 6-3 with a 3.
