NEW YORK — The start of summer has brought scorching conditions to the New York metropolitan area, and it could have an effect on the start of the Mets' four-game series against the Braves on Monday night at Citi Field.
The U.S. National Weather Service has issued an extreme heat warning until at least 8 p.m. Tuesday for all five boroughs of New York City, including the area around Citi Field where the Mets and Atlanta Braves are playing a four-game series this week.
An extreme heat warning goes into effect when heat and humidity is expected to make it feel like it is 105 degrees or more.
