The Atlanta Braves are in great shape in the standings, with a 6.5-game lead over the Philadelphia Phillies and a 7.5-game over the Washington Nationals on the morning of Sept. 17. As a result of that cushion (and the team’s Magic Number of 8), there is grand optimism in Braves Country and, well, it is justified.
Periodically throughout the 2018 campaign, we have checked in with five statistical projection systems to see how they evaluate the Braves through the prism of making the postseason. With just two weeks remaining, we will do just that for the final time and, hopefully, things will hold just as they are.
