The Los Angeles Dodgers and Atlanta Braves played eight hard-fought innings Friday night.
They had to wait to play the ninth.
At about 9:25 p.m. ET, the game was sent into a rain delay in Atlanta.
The Dodgers led 2-1 at the time of the delay after the final out of the eighth.
L.A. had opened the scoring in the fourth inning when a Will Smith sacrifice fly scored Mookie Betts.
Then in the sixth, Betts pulled a home run to left-center to take a 2-0 lead.
