When Brian Snitker replaced Fredi Gonzalez just 37 games into the 2016 season he looked like little more than a placeholder for until the team could find a proper replacement. From there Snitker won over his players and eventually the front office and capitalized on a strong finish which led to the removal of the interim tag.
There is little doubt that Snitker earned the job. He took over a team that was floundering across the board and led them to overachieve down the stretch. That put the front office in a bit of a position when it actually came time for the manager search.
