May 31—MANDAN, N.D. — Head coach Pete Dobitz got to see what he had hoped from his Dickinson players when they came back from their WDA baseball tournament semifinal loss Friday to clinch a state qualifying spot on Saturday.
The Midgets refused to take it lying down and came into their matchup against Mandan with heated bats garnering an early and decisive lead. They had senior contributions throughout the game, just as they have had throughout the season.
Senior Isaac Daley pitched for six innings, collecting six strikeouts for the win, but also gave up six walks.
